Alumnus Business Returns to Alma Mater

Shanghai University alumnus Xu Xinyuan is the founder and President of Labcare Technology (China) Co Ltd.  The company is keen to give back to the University and has established the Shanghai University Alumni Activity Centre within its building in Boashan Science Park, and a new Labcare International Talent Development Fund to help develop the careers of future graduates.

On January 8th, 2017 a ceremony was held in the Labcare building to formalize the fund’s donation to the University, and to sign an agreement between Shanghai University’s College of International Exchange, SHU-UTS SILC Business School and Labcare.

Cao Jun, Deputy Director of Liaison Division and Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai University Education Development Foundation presided over the ceremony.

Teachers and students of the two colleges and the alumni’s enterprises.



Xu Xinyuan gave a history of the company, describing its vision and culture of enterprise and development, and how this fits with the forward-thinking ethos of the University.  The new agreements will help Labcare work closely with its alma mater to provide real industry experience for international students of Shanghai University, and allow it to contribute to international exchange and talent cultivation. Mr Xu thanked the Liaison Division of the University for the support and assistance given to the company which allowed it to build its links to the two Colleges.

Xu Rui, Director of Liaison Division and Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai University Education Development Foundation accepted the donation from enterprises on behalf of the Foundation.


'Shanghai University Internationalized Talents Development Fund by LABCARE', RMB 5 million in total, will be used as award of College of International Exchange and SHU-UTS SILC Business School, as well as to fund domestic and foreign students for enterprise internship, and to fund teachers in education of those students and cultural exchange activities.



Gong Siyi, Deputy Secretary and Vice Principal of Shanghai University presented a e certificate and commemoration plate to Xu Xinyuan.  Foreign Student Social Practice Base of Shanghai University is opened officially, indicating that the strategic cooperation of College of International Exchange of Shanghai University and LABCARE has taken a major step forward.


Just one day before, Labcare held its annual New Year celebration, and were very pleased to welcome Jin Donghan, President of Shanghai University by other college leaders including Xu Xu, Deputy Secretary and Vice Principal to tour the building and see for themselves the company’s global headquarters, its Advanced Technology Centre and the new Alumni Activity Centre.  The delegation saw Labcare’s investment and sponsorship of the Centre, and gave valuable advice on how to strengthen the relationship between enterprise and university for the benefit of business, education and graduates.
